Guardian Flight Base Manager Celebrates Career Milestone

Guardian Flight Base Manager Dave Harju is celebrating nine years of dedicated service this September.
Dave Harju, base manager for Guardian Flight Grand Rapids, is celebrating nine years of dedicated service to the community. Harju began his career for the air medical provider in 2014 as a flight paramedic before being promoted to base manager in 2018.

“Dave is an important part of what makes our Grand Rapids base such a great place,” said Robert Miller, regional director for Guardian Flight. “His experience, attitude and talents are invaluable, and he is a shining example of dedication and commitment.”

Harju attended St. Cloud Technical Community College, obtaining an Associate of Applied Science degree before going on to earn his critical care certification from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He started his air medical services career as a flight paramedic at the Guardian Flight fixed-wing base in Houghton, Michigan.

“I am blessed to have the best coworkers,” said Harju.” I work with some incredible clinicians, pilots, mechanics and communications specialists. Not to mention the Grand Rapids area is a beautiful place to be based at.”
