Seven First Responders with AMR and REACH Honored at 2021 California EMS Awards

The annual event recognizes exceptional acts of service by the state's volunteers and EMS professionals.
American Medical Response (AMR) and REACH Air Medical Services (REACH), both part of the Global Medical Response family of companies, are proud to announce that seven first responders from their California operations were recognized at the 2021 California EMS Awards in Los Angeles on May 17.

“Every day our first responders show incredible commitment and dedication to serving the communities of this state,” said Sean Russell, Pacific Region President for Global Medical Response. “We are incredibly proud of the work of these seven outstanding individuals. This is a well-deserved recognition.”

The annual event, hosted by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA), began in 2007 and recognizes exceptional acts of service by individuals working or volunteering in California’s emergency medical system.

The honorees from AMR and REACH include:
  • EMT of the Year Award: April Grolle, AMR Santa Clara
  • Medal of Valor: Mark Prozorov, AMR Yolo County
  • EMS Cross: Shawn Ormsby, AMR Placer County
  • Distinguished Service Medal: Michael Patterson, Sierra Life Flight
  • Lifesaving Medal: Eusebia Aragon, AMR Stanislaus County
  • Clinical Excellence Award: Carter Allen, AMR San Benito County
  • Clinical Excellence Award: Steven Clifton, AMR Contra Costa County
