Kristin Davis
Operations Supervisor
Kristin Davis has over 25 years of experience in emergency medical services (EMS) and is the operations supervisor for Lifeguard Ambulance Service in Knoxville, Tennessee. Through her commitment and dedication, Kristin has grown in her role and assisted in the success of this operation.
After she received her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license in 2001, Kristin developed her skills in a busy 911 system. Five years later, she began working for Lifeguard Ambulance Service when it opened its doors as a non-emergency service in East Tennessee. Kristin enthusiastically undertook every task assigned to her, doing anything, anywhere she could. She has been helpful in seeing the company establish itself from humble beginnings into a high-functioning operation.
“I cross-trained in dispatch, pre-billing, clinical quality assurance, business development...” Kristin explains. She quickly became a valued and trusted team player destined for supervisory roles even before the positions were open, aiding calls after hours and learning all core functions of managing this operation. Her eagerness to learn and unwavering support for her team earned her a promotion in 2013, becoming operations supervisor.
A decade later, and after many years of being short-staffed, Lifeguard was asked to assist their GMR sister company, AMR Knox in their 911 system. This was a major shift in operations: “We were primarily a non-emergency service focused on interfacility transports (IFT). Within 12 hours, we met with our team, restructured our business model, and successfully immersed our team into emergency systems.” The exceptional management of this initiative marks Kristin as an inspiration among her peers.
In addition to the day-to-day tasks of an operations supervisor, she also acts as the program director for the Knoxville area’s Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program, advocating for the next generation of EMS professionals. To them and anyone else interested in a future in EMS, she offers this advice: “Be committed to lifelong learning, always be curious and ask questions, and keep moving towards a long-term plan.”
Lifeguard Ambulance Service is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year, and Kristin played a significant role in shaping the organization within Knoxville. Her humility and dedication are deeply appreciated, as are the lasting contributions she has made beyond her kindness, and we extend our sincere gratitude for her impact.
