The new base will provide service to South Texas.
Air Evac Lifeteam (Air Evac) announced today that its newest emergency air medical transport base in Texas is in service. The base features a Bell 407 GXI aircraft and is staffed around the clock with an Air Evac pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic crew member, all based in Uvalde. The highly trained and experienced crew will be ready to respond to time-critical emergency requests in South Texas when needed.

“This base will serve as a critical asset for the South Texas community,” says Michael Keaton, senior program director for Air Evac. “We look forward to working with local first responders and healthcare professionals to provide timely emergency medical response to this region.”

Air Evac Lifeteam is a participating provider in the AirMedCare Network (AMCN), the nation’s largest air medical transport membership program with more than 320 air medical locations across 38 states. Members flown for a life- or limb-threatening injury or illness by an AMCN participating provider have no out-of-pocket costs for the flight. Whatever the member’s insurance – or third-party insurance – pays is considered payment in full. Annual memberships start at $99 ($79 for seniors over the age of 60).
