AMR Named the Official EMS Partner of the San Francisco Giants
5.20.2025
To commemorate the partnership, AMR unveiled a Giants-themed ambulance, honoring former catcher and current Giants President of Baseball Operations, Buster Posey.
In celebration of National EMS Week, American Medical Response (AMR), a leading provider of emergency medical services and a division of Global Medical Response (GMR), today announced a strategic partnership with the San Francisco Giants. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to the well-being of Giants fans, Oracle Park guests and the broader San Francisco community. Together, AMR and the Giants will work to enhance emergency medical readiness and support initiatives that champion public health and safety throughout the region. As the Official Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Partner of the Giants, AMR San Francisco will be onsite for all games this season.
A defining moment between AMR and the Giants occurred on June 16, 2021, when former catcher and current President of Baseball Operations for the Giants, Buster Posey, made history with a three-run home run that famously bounced off the roof of an AMR ambulance stationed in the outfield. This rare and historic event became an iconic part of both Giants and AMR history.
To commemorate this unforgettable event and celebrate EMS Week, AMR will unveil a special Giants-themed ambulance, featuring a painted target on the roof, mirroring the spot where Posey’s homer made its mark. This bullseye, visible in the outfield, will serve as a tribute to the rare moment and offer players the opportunity to try to recreate the extraordinary feat during games throughout the season. The unveiling of this specially marked ambulance will be a highlight of the day, underscoring the lasting connection between the Giants and the life-saving services AMR provides.
The tribute continues with a pregame ceremony, where AMR first responders will be honored for their tireless dedication to the San Francisco community. As part of the celebration, the AMR Northern California Honor Guard will present the colors during the national anthem, symbolizing the invaluable role first responders play in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
"At the San Francisco Giants, the safety and well-being of our fans and guests is our top priority," said Steve Tseng, Senior Vice President, Partnerships at the San Francisco Giants. "This partnership with AMR strengthens our emergency preparedness at Oracle Park, and also reflects our shared dedication to supporting unmatched fan experiences and the San Francisco community at-large."
"We are honored to provide emergency medical services at Oracle Park,” said Rodney Brouhard, Regional Director for AMR. “This partnership underscores the Giants' commitment to supporting the local community and honoring the vital role first responders play on and off the field.”
Celebrating EMS Week
National EMS Week, observed annually during the third week of May, recognizes the vital contributions of EMS professionals – including paramedics, EMTs and first responders – who provide life-saving care in times of crisis. It also serves as an opportunity to raise public awareness about the essential services EMS teams provide and to honor their unwavering commitment to public health and safety.
In celebration of EMS Week, AMR provided nearly 600 tickets for Monday’s game to employees and their families. AMR and GMR team members will be in attendance from 14 counties, representing first responders from the Bay Area, the Central Valley and all along the Northern California coast from Big Sur to Sonoma.
