Med Express leadership and team members are now part of GMR’s teams, Providing Care at A Moment’s Notice.
Global Medical Response (GMR) leaders today finalized an agreement to acquire the assets of Med Express Ambulance Service. Recognized for its progressive and innovative approach, Med Express provides quality, compassionate ambulance transportation to more than a half-million Louisiana residents.

“We are pleased to welcome the 289 team members from Med Express into our GMR family,” said GMR CEO Randy Owen. “Med Express has served area residents for nearly 30 years, and its mission of providing emergency and non-emergency ambulance transportation, para-transit services, and EMS education services to rural Louisiana dovetails well with the GMR mission of providing care at a moment’s notice.” The asset purchase also includes the Med Express fleet of 70 ambulances, wheelchair vans and support vehicles.

Med Express team members will continue to serve their local communities under the Med Express brand. Mark Majors, founder of Med Express, said local communities will not notice a change in the excellent service. “MedExpress is proud to be a part of the Global Medical Response family. We are excited to continue providing compassionate, excellent pre-hospital service in Louisiana, backed by the national strength, resources and innovation of Global Medical Response.”

GMR announced this assert purchase in late 2021 (GMR Signs Agreement to Buy Assets of Med Express).
