Global Medical Response (GMR) and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will honor frontline EMS caregivers and their families as part of the 2021 Global Medical Response (GMR) Grand Prix weekend hosted at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, May 14 - 15.

"We are proud to once again be the title sponsor for the GMR Grand Prix race event,” said Ted Van Horne, Chief Operating Officer for Global Medical Response. “This important weekend in racing presents us with the opportunity to publicly recognize and thank the outstanding professionals at GMR and across the EMS industry who have gone above and beyond in service to our patients and communities this past year.”

As the title sponsor for the Grand Prix, GMR will help to highlight some of its 38,000 employees from its global medical transportation operations as well as other first responders, starting with a ticket giveaway. GMR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway have partnered to offer complimentary race day tickets to Central Indiana first responders. Thousands of tickets for this weekend’s race are being distributed to local first responder agencies in an effort to recognize first responders for their important contributions.

“We’re proud to partner with GMR over this exciting Race Weekend to honor the contributions and sacrifices of our frontline workers,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles explained. “It will be exciting to host so many of these heroes on site and I know the stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will put on a world-class show for them.”

Throughout the weekend, seven outstanding professionals from the Global Medical Response family of companies will participate in important pre and post-race announcements and events.

Among those being highlighted are:
  • Jamie McDaniel, Occupational Health Officer, Paramedic
  • Ryan Crohn, Paramedic Supervisor
  • Jennifer Durham, Flight Nurse
  • Mark Selapack, Field Training Officer, Paramedic
  • Carmen Hicks, Flight Nurse
  • Bill Freeman, EMT
  • Melissa Blyth, EMT

Each honoree was chosen because of their dedication, compassion and service to their patients, communities and colleagues over the past year.

In addition to being the title sponsor of the Grand Prix, GMR is an INDYCAR partner and provides dedicated safety team members via its ground medical transportation company, American Medical Response (AMR). The AMR INDYCAR Safety Team consists of approximately 30 highly trained and experienced medical personnel who respond to on-track incidents and provide emergency medical care.
