Hunter is one of the largest private ambulance providers in the New York City metro area.
Global Medical Response (GMR) officials announced today the agreement to acquire the assets of Hunter Ambulance Group has been finalized. Hunter is one of the largest private ambulance providers in the New York City metro area, serving all five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and several of the largest hospital systems in the area. All-Transit, an operating entity of Hunter, provides staff and resources to transport mobility-impaired individuals across New York City.

Mike Addario, Vice President for Global Medical Response’s Northeast Operations, said he is excited to welcome the Hunter team to the Global Medical Response family. “The company will continue to serve New York City residents under the Hunter brand, while accessing the innovative solutions and programs GMR has to offer,” Addario said.

A family-owned business, Hunter was founded in 1982 and transported approximately 86,000 patients and provided 315,000 non-medical vehicle service hours in the New York City area last year.

Dan Leibowitz, president of Hunter Ambulance Group, said he looks forward to growing the company’s presence in downstate New York. “Our long-standing tradition of care will become stronger as we work with the GMR resources and team,” he said.
